Mr. Nickerson has more than 25 years experience as an operating manager, corporate and management consultant. - Served as acting Director of Computer Operations for a major healthcare provider. During this 16-month interim management engagement, he also managed the successful implementation of a corporate-wide imaging and document management system.
- Coordinated the merger of two large data centers following the merger of the two companies.
- Served as interim Manager of a database group for a large healthcare company.
- Served as Project Manager for the implementation of a change management structure for a large data center.
- Led the effort to conduct a single point of failure analysis for both a large mainframe client server environment.
- Project Manager for implementation of interest Rate Swap System for a large U.K. financial institution.
- Led the feasibility study for a large corporation to relocate their data center; relocated the data center with no disruption to client.
- As Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Best Western International (an international lodging chain), he was responsible for all information services functions and telecommunications worldwide. Accomplishments include:
- Restructured the information services organization to function as a corporate utility.
- Established an organization to maintain all personal computers for the company, lowering maintenance costs by more than 20%.
- Selected and began implementation of a fourth generation worldwide reservation system to improve reservation efficiency and increase revenues by a forecasted $40 million annually.
- Implemented a client server capability to handle internal and property communication more efficiently.
- Implemented an international quality control system and electronic mail in all field sales offices.
- Served as Vice President and Chief Information Officer for MPI (Marketing-Performance- Innovation), a subsidiary of United Airlines. Managed all information technology and telecommunications. (MPL is the largest U.S. direct marketing company.)
Mr. Nickerson's educational background includes a BBA in marketing from Texas Tech University, enhanced by completion of the IBM President's Class at Harvard University and the Executive Management Program at Stanford University.
